4‑H Auction Scholarships
Applications will be available June 1 and must be completed and due by August 1. There will be a minimum of 4 (four) $5,000 and 10 (ten) $2,500, and 15 (fifteen) $1,000 scholarships. They will be presented prior to the 4-H Auction on August 24th in the Compeer Arena.
Since 1995, when the first scholarship of $500 was awarded, 603 recipients have received $959,000 total in scholarships. Scholarship Sponsors provide 50% of funds and the MLBA 4‑H Purple Ribbon Auction matches each of the Sponsors' donations from the auction proceeds.
Eligibility:
The 4-H Auction Scholarship is open to Minnesota 4-H members who have graduated from high school and are enrolled in any 4-H animal science project in the current year (this includes dairy, horse, rabbits, dog, llama, etc., as well as the livestock projects that are eligible for the MLBA 4-H Purple Ribbon Auction). Scholarship recipients may be attending any accredited 2 or 4 year college or university and be pursuing a degree in any major. 4-H members that have previously received the 4-H Auction Scholarship are not eligible to apply or receive a scholarship a second time.
